Overview of Position:
Plan, supervise and implement an age-appropriate curriculum for a classroom of three-year old children and design activities to meet each child’s needs. Must ensure the development and safety of children in compliance with relevant federal, state, and municipal legislation and policies. Must be respectful of children and parents and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe, and well maintained.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • AA degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR 60 college units with 30+ college units in ECE, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education.
  • Works effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds and those with disabilities and special needs.
  • Direct activities of the teaching team/teacher’s assistants under your supervision.
  • Teaching staff supervise children’s safety at all times.
  • Set up children’s portfolio system for organizing children’s observations and forms of evidence and documentation for CDE and NAEYC.
  • Complete annual Environment Rating Scale for the designated classroom, following ECERS guidelines.
  • Maintain records of each child’s progress, development and behavior for periodic reports to parents.
  • Submit a weekly lesson plan based upon Desired Results and NAEYC standards.
  • Maintain an attractive, safe, clean, orderly and happy classroom environment following ECERS, NAEYC and Licensing standards.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures.
  • Provide weekly and monthly schedules of indoor/outdoor curriculum activities based on CDE and NAEYC standards.
  • Follow CDE and CACFP nutritional guidelines with family style meals.
  • Develop an age-appropriate curriculum that focuses on the needs of each child in accordance with the California Department of Education, CSPP California State Preschool Program, Desired Results and NAEYC standards.
  • Attend CDE/CACFP/NAEYC licensing training and meetings as needed.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field (preferred) or equivalent of 60 college credits with a minimum of 30 ECE units required.
  • Minimum three years’ experience working with children in a preschool setting.
  • Strong written and communication skills.

Qualifications:
  • Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index.
  • Health and Safety Certificate.
  • Health clearance, Immunization record updated with proof of TB test and CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Teacher Permit required.

Overview:

Assistance League of Los Angeles operates the Preschool Learning Center, a small, nurturing, nationally accredited Preschool with approximately 50 students. The Preschool serves children from low-income families, ages 3 – 5, free of charge.

 

Overview of Position:

Under the direct supervision of the Preschool Director, the Full-Time Preschool Receptionist/Teacher’s Assistant will provide receptionist and clerical services for the preschool office, classroom/playground backup as needed, and will perform other job-related tasks as requested by the Preschool Director or Assistant Preschool Director.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist parents and visitors.
  •  Assist teachers in classroom and playground as needed.
  • Perform general office duties.
  • Manage student sign-in/sign-out sheets.
  • Work independently, often with frequent interruptions.
  • Interact and develop relationships with staff, students, parents, and community partners .
  •  Perform other duties as assigned .

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education course units and continuing professional development.

Court Referred Volunteer Center (CRVC), an agency of the Assistance League, is responsible for helping Los Angeles nonprofit and public agencies recruit and manage the volunteers they need to successfully deliver on their missions. The CRVC program, which places more than 50,000 court-ordered volunteers with over 350 agencies every year, is currently recruiting a CRVC Referral Specialist. This position rotates to various courthouse locations within the San Fernando Valley as needed (Van Nuys/Chatsworth/San Fernando/Lancaster).

 

Overview of Position:

This position will refer Court-Referred Volunteers (CRV) to participating non-profit organizations throughout the Los Angeles area, where they perform court-ordered work assignments. This position is also responsible for maintaining a positive working relationship with other Court Referred Volunteer Center (CRVC) staff, court personnel, and outside contacts. This position is 7.5 hours/day, Monday – Friday.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately inputs client data into proprietary software program.
  • Interviews Court Referred Volunteers (CRV) and maintains control of interview process.

Overview of Theatre:

Producing plays since 1929, the Assistance League® of Los Angeles Theatre for Children is the oldest children’s theatre in Southern California. The League’s award-winning Nine O’Clock Players perform plays chosen from classic children’s literature with dancing, singing and special effects.

 
Overview of Position: 
The House Manager (HM) exercises independent judgement in performing a wide variety of technical and professional and managerial duties. Due to the ever-changing operating hours of our 330-seat theater, the HM works varying days and hours based on theatre needs. The HM has a strong working knowledge/experience with techniques, methods and procedures of theatre, dance and music productions and presentations including stage set, sound and lighting; stage management; computerized lighting systems; stage carpentry; and appropriate safety procedures. The HM is responsible for the smooth operation of the theatre and oversees the safety and well-being of patrons while at the theatre. Manages and supervises strike to ensure orderly and safe tear-down, demolition, and/or storage of scenic, lighting, sound and property elements.

The ideal candidate has a love of theater, related theater, technical and managerial experience, and can work flexible hours. Work includes two theatre productions per year and as needed for additional theatre rentals throughout the year including evenings and weekends.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities: 
  • The HM manages all theatre rentals including overseeing the execution of the set-ups as noted under the terms of the rental agreement including supervising other internal or outside supporting personnel as needed
  • Manages on-site and day-of oversight for the opening and closing of the theatre
  • Serves as primary relationship manager for theatre operations with clients, vendors, NOP performers and staff
  • Manages and oversees Nine O’Clock Players (NOP) volunteers when in session at the theatre
  • Operates, maintains and safeguards the technical assets of the production, including supervising the use of lighting, sound, video, communications equipment, and the use and maintenance of stage facilities
  • Determines the production needs, such as lighting, sound, video, and staging for rehearsals and performances. Develops and implements a plan for load-in, strike and load-out
  • Maintains and operates lighting and sound systems for theatre, dance, music and other productions and projects
  • Provides technical support, guidance and managerial supervision to theatre hires, including production managers, lighting and sound designers for rehearsals, performances and events
  • Ability to perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on theatre and equipment
  • Ensures the technical operation of the theatre is always safe and complies with current legislation and industry standards; provides technical support to visiting companies, hires and artists
  • Manages and assists with post-production strike and cleanup of facility, materials and equipment
  • Complies with all current COVID-19 guidelines per the CDC/LA County Dept. of Public Health
  • Oversees and manages ongoing and significant construction and repair projects at theatre
Requirements: 
  • Strong leadership, management and organizational skills
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience; background in theatre/the arts preferred
  • Working knowledge of construction and set design, lighting design, stage rigging, audio and sound reinforcement, stage management and/or production management
  • Working knowledge and clear understanding of professional standards of stage safety, and ability to ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail and organizational/project management skills
  • Physical requirements include climbing, bending, lifting, carrying, and sometimes performing cleaning duties

Overview of Position: 
The Teacher/Assistant Program Director works closely with and reports to the Preschool Program Director, Preschool Learning Center. He/she will assist in performing a variety of administrative work including the Desired Results System, DRDP’s documents, reporting to the Department of Education, Child Development Division and NAEYC. Essential Job Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate, updated paperwork according to Licensing, NAEYC and government contracts compliances guidelines. Ensure all files and children’s assessment records are kept current. Review all submissions to administration for accuracy.
  • Develop an age-appropriate curriculum that focuses on the needs of each child in accordance with the State Department of Education, Child Development Division, Title V, Title 22, CLASS/CLASS Environment and NAEYC standards.
  • Direct activities of the teaching team/teachers under your supervision
  • Work as a teacher in the designated classroom. Actively supervise children in your care in the classroom, on the playground and during class activities always. Teaching staff supervise children primarily by sight. Supervision for short intervals by sound is permissible if teachers check frequently on children who are out of sight, quiet area, nap time, outdoor, restrooms, dramatic play area, library, writing tables, block area, hallways, and sick room.
  • Set up children’s portfolio system for organizing children’s observations and forms of evidence and documentation for CDE and NAEYC.
  • Maintain records of each child’s progress, development and behavior, to comply with CDE, Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing and NAEYC.
  • Maintain an attractive, safe, clean, orderly and happy classroom environment.
  • Provide oversight for program implementation utilizing the Desired Results System’s Evaluation Tool. Assist in the preparation of the CDE and NAEYC Annual Report.
  • Submit a weekly lesson plan based upon Desired Results and NAEYC standards.
  • Provide oversight for CACFP program, including “family-style dining for children”, meal counts and CACFP Meals Delivery Procedures, create the monthly menu and ensure that all meals are delivered correctly
  • Participate in conferences, parent meeting and training as assigned
  • Discuss all concerns regarding school safety, children, parents, co-workers or volunteers with the Program Director.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:
Five years of experience in an early childhood education setting working with children ages 2-5 years
  • Three years of experience as a Lead Teacher or Site Supervisor of an early childhood education program, this includes Infant/Toddler care
  • Experience working with special needs children, CLASS/CLASS Environment, Title V and Title 22

 

Qualifications: 
  • Required: Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or higher granted by the Commission on Teaching Credentialing
