REFERRAL SPECIALIST

Overview of Position:

The Referral Specialist refers court-ordered volunteers to non-profit organizations throughout the greater Los Angeles area to perform volunteer work assignments. This position maintains positive working relationships with volunteers, Court Referred Volunteer Center (CRVC) staff in other court offices, court personnel, and outside contacts. The CRVC program is currently recruiting a Referral Specialist. The position is based in Lancaster, CA.

 

Overview of Program:

The Court Referred Volunteer Center (CRVC), a program of Assistance League® of Los Angeles, helps local nonprofit and public agencies recruit court-ordered volunteers to successfully deliver on their missions. The CRVC program places more than 50,000 volunteers with over 350 agencies every year.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

The Referral Specialist interviews court referred volunteers (volunteers) and accurately inputs confidential data into proprietary software program. Makes referrals consistent with the volunteer’s court orders and other criteria. Maintains accurate information in volunteer files and confidentiality of all volunteer records. Collects volunteer intake fees and reconciles fees collected with transaction records. Answers phones and performs various clerical duties. Attends CRVC meetings as required. Maintains business attire suitable for Court environment. Treats all clients equally and with dignity and respect. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

Must successfully pass background check. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Is comfortable learning and using various computer software programs. Possesses solid interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Requires valid California driver’s license, current automobile insurance, clean DMV record and access to personal transportation.

 

Education and Experience:

Minimum two years of customer service and clerical/office experience. Cash handling experience in a service-oriented environment is an asset. Proficient Spanish speaking/writing is a plus.

 

Job Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday. Generous benefits and paid time off
