For nearly 100 years, Assistance League of Los Angeles has worked to improve the lives of under-served, foster and homeless children in our community. From providing a week’s worth of school clothes to children in need, to producing live musical theater for low-income students, the League’s member volunteers serve more than 21,000 children annually to make sure that every child has a chance to succeed no matter their circumstances. We could not successfully carry out our mission without the support of community partners like Annenberg Space for Photography. We are honored they have selected us as the featured nonprofit for their Family Fun Day taking place on June 23rd.
Annenberg Space for Photography’s Family Fun Day is an opportunity to bring the whole family for a free day of art and fun at the Annenberg Space for Photography in beautiful Century Park! You can enjoy their current exhibit and spend the day in the park where there will be a host of free activities to fill your afternoon, including live music, arts and crafts, magic shows, a petting farm, and more!
Admission to Family Fun Day is free, but guests are encouraged to bring new school supplies to our Assistance League of Los Angeles booth. We’ll be filling up our donation boxes with your scholastic goodies for children served by our Operation School Bell, Foster Children’s Resource Center and Preschool Learning Center this fall. We’ll also have markers, stickers, and all the glitter you need to make greeting cards that will accompany the school supplies. Please see below for a wish list of supplies:
- Colored Paper
- Spiral Notebooks (please, no 3-ring binders)
- Wide-ruled notebook paper
- Colored pencils
- Glue sticks
- Index cards
- Educational workbooks like Brain Teasers, First Word Readers, etc.
